I downloaded the low version (I have 26.4k max dial-up) and I get this error message:

The WVC1 codec is required to play this file.

Has anybody else had this problem & what do I need to do?

David

The video is a Windows Media Video. All Windows XP machine come with the codec. On windows 98 you would have to install the wmv codecs. Trust me it should play on any version of Windows XP. It is a Windows format after all.

I downloaded it on Dec 16. Have there been any fixes since then?
I don't have any trouble with any other *.WMV files. I'm hoping that I don't have to download again as it took 5+ hours to download :!:

Thanks,
David

About 10 years ago I had Dial up. At 56k, I could download 5k/sec with was around 1MB per minute at best. The small file is 37MB. It should only take around 40 minutes to download it with Dial up. what did others get ?

for a small fee I can burn the high quality onto a CD for you and mail it to you.

A 1MB file usually takes about 10-15 minutes on good days. Our telephone lines are Crappy :x (there are times when I can't even connect to the net or even make a call because of so much line noise).
I have had other problems with large files (MP3's) that I had to re-download for them to work. The bad phone lines evidently corrupt large files sometimes.

I downloaded the 2007 one last year and it plays fine. I just played it again.

I might take you up on that CD. I'm going to try and download it at work first (if i can without getting caught).

Thanks,
David

When he gets onto the internet he has to call the operator (like in Andy Griffith show) and she has to plug in a patch cord to the internet. Of course everyone in town shares a single connection.
