I went to Bass Pro the other day and saw the new Primos cams out. I am wanting to get the new Stealth 4K when it comes out in about a month. So I decided in the mean time to get this new Primos camera. I put it out and got 4 videos. 3 were of me and one night video of a deer. They have sound on it now. You can hear it and it sounds good. I am also very impressed with the day videos for a 720p camera. It looks as good as the new Bushnell 1080p camera. I am going to move it to a more active spot to get more videos and I will share them. I will get some pictures done at some point also.

Here are some videos from the new camera. I can see with low light the video suffers. The first one is the low light video and I did not get any true transition videos. The sound is better but I can hear background noise with it. I do have an interstate just south of here and another Hwy east of me. But that is not what the background noise is. Don't see much adjustments at night. Dont like the Primos and Proof logo on the screen.

Looks like it should be a decent camera. To me the background noise is the mic picking up a lot of noise meaning more so than most if the cameras out on the market. You really can hear the bugs and birds and whatnot. This is just me guessing.

Did they change how the batteries are installed or the battery holder? The biggest problem with the proof cameras is the battery connections.

Cant remember what last years holder looked like but I think it is the same.
I will set it for picture mode on Friday. I will post some pictures next week.
So far I like it but not at that price. With a good 20% off coupon it would be good.

I like the $78 price tag of the old ones and the way they perform but this new Bushnell Essential E2 I just picked up for $100 I like it better. I'll spend the extra $20 every time on the Bushnell. I talked to the Bushnell customer service the other day trying to get my camera registered and they were great. Not sure how good primos is but I have one camera with so so battery connections that needs looked at.

I'm interested in the Gen 2 but I'll wait for prices to come down however I've seriously considering a cell trail camera so I might not even buy another primos.

Thanks for the review keep us updated.

The audio sounds almost exactly like my first generation 02 camera sounds like. You may want to test the video out in a quiet room in your house to see if the noise is still present, I'm betting it is. How far is your camera from the feeder?

The feeder is 30 ft if I remember correctly.

Here are some pictures from this camera. The camera is facing East south east. All the pictures before noon are bad. Shadows are an issue. I need to aim the camera up a little. I put it back in video mode now. Have hundreds of pictures of all kinds of animals. A bunch of dark ones that you cant see whats in it in the daytime. You can brighten the pics and see them. I see Iso range from 150 to 999.

Have you faced other cameras in the same direction? When I set mine up I with real hard at setting them up facing away from the sun
Mainly North if I can but always North West or north east. Just wonder if your pictures would show up better if the camera faced away from the sun.

The camera seems to take pretty clear and detailed pictures though. To me it's better than the new highly praised Browning Strikeforce. If they fixed the battery connection problems I may think about getting one.

Thanks for the update! What's your opinion on trigger speed?

Looks like TCP has some info out on the new proof 2 and looks like trigger speed is a little faster and recovery is better than the Gen 2. It looks like it uses more battery power though.

I'm excited to hear how your testing goes with the new proof. I believe your shadow issues are because the camera is faced somewhat towards the sun. When you think of the shadows being an issue before noon it makes sense because the sun rises from the East then at noon or little later it is more west which changes where the shadows are.

Thanks for running your test, looks like it could be a great camera.

No doubt if I got this out in the open it would work better. Most of the pictures I got in the daytime were almost totally black. At 11:41 in the day it should have been good with the sun directly over head. I really will only use this for videos and the shadows dont effect that. I have had my XR6, New Bushnell, New Browning extreme, and a G42 on this spot at some point in the last two years. Never have this kind of issue with them. This looks like the same thing the New Bushnell did but the Bushnell was not near as bad. Same company so maybe the same programing. It looks to be fairly fast on the trigger and recovery.
