Last deer season I used my cell phone to try and find a suitable spot for a cell cam. Had no luck. The area is over 50 miles away one way so a cell cam would be a good choice. The area is well know to be dead for cell service.

Will have to bite the bullet and put out a few cameras for long soaks. The area is so steep I don’t venture too far off the main trail. From the looks of it I am not the only one. No one was hunting my spot last year.

All cams would have to be put up high in the trees. The pics I got last season showed the bigger bucks grow very shy of the cameras. Going to have to limit my intrusions as well.

Cell cams have a longer antenna than a cell phone does. There are also antenna extensions available to hang a antenna higher in a tree. But a dead spot is a dead spot. I'd check a coverage map from cell providers to see if its remotely possible to use a cell cam.
