Not much info about these on Moultrie's website but they appear to be triggered with their own sensor. I'm also wondering what the little box at the bottom is for. It appears to have a Philips head screw and if it's the battery case I could see that being a pain.

My sister in law says she uses a different type now but had a Hot shoe slave at one time which is what I saw. This is the type of product.

These probably aren't going to work with blackflash or red ir and if they do the timing will most likely be off since they are made for a strobe flash. RC Davis makes a controller that will run a LED booster array.
